Your Life And Soul
Based in Addlestone, serving Camberley & the surrounding Surrey area
When something's weighing on you, talking it through can help you make sense of it. Counselling offers a calm, confidential place to understand what you're carrying and find a way forward.
Too far to travel? Online sessions available.
I'm Lindsay, an integrative counsellor registered with the BACP, and I support people from Camberley and across Surrey. My practice is based in Addlestone, a drive away that most Camberley clients find straightforward, and I also offer the flexibility of online sessions for anyone who prefers not to travel.
Approach
As an integrative counsellor I don't hold to a single school of therapy. I combine ideas and techniques from several approaches and adapt them to you, because the right way of working depends entirely on who you are and what you're facing, not on a textbook.
Practically, that means our sessions can shift as your needs do. Sometimes we'll look back at experiences that still shape how you relate to others; at other times the work is grounded and immediate, such as calming a racing mind or finding better words for a difficult conversation at home.
Camberley grew up alongside Sandhurst, and I'm mindful of the particular rhythms that brings: postings, deployments, frequent moves, and the quiet resilience families build to manage them. Alongside that sit the ordinary Surrey pressures of demanding jobs and busy family life, and any of it can wear you down over time.
I won't judge how you've managed so far or tell you what to do. My role is to offer a dependable, respectful space where you can speak freely, understand what's really going on, and develop ways of coping that genuinely work for you.
Services
Young people today grow up under pressures earlier generations never faced: relentless online comparison, friendships that continue on screens long after school ends, and academic expectations that ramp up young. It's a lot to hold, and it often shows up as worry or withdrawal.
I work with children and teenagers experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, anger that feels too big to manage, difficulties at school both socially and academically, and the impact of family upheaval such as separation, moves or bereavement.
Counselling gives them a space that belongs entirely to them, free from parents and teachers, where they can begin to understand and voice how they feel. For children in service families in particular, having that steady constant through change can matter enormously.
Adult life asks a great deal all at once: careers, relationships, children, ageing parents, finances, and the expectation that you'll keep your own wellbeing ticking over on top. When something buckles, it's usually your own needs that were quietly set aside.
I support adults dealing with anxiety, depression, work and relationship stress, anger, the effects of past trauma, grief, and the harder-to-name feeling that life isn't quite where you wanted it to be.
Whatever you're facing, counselling gives you undistracted space to look at it honestly. Together we make sense of what sits underneath, work through the difficult feelings, challenge the patterns keeping you stuck, and build a steadier footing for what comes next.
Neurodiversity is a key specialism in my practice. I work with neurodivergent children, teenagers and adults, and with the families around them, whether there's a formal ADHD or autism diagnosis, an assessment on the horizon, or simply a sense that this could explain a lot.
Parents frequently arrive exhausted and feeling dismissed by schools and services. I give them a dedicated space to make sense of their child's world and to develop strategies that hold up in real daily life rather than only in theory.
For young people, the focus is on valuing how their mind works, managing the parts of school and socialising that feel hard, and growing their resilience. Adults recognising themselves in a late diagnosis are equally welcome, and counselling can help you understand your strengths and reframe the past with kindness.
The story we're sold is that pregnancy and early motherhood are blissful. When they aren't, many women feel painfully alone and guilty for not feeling what they think they should.
I have specialist experience supporting women through Hyperemesis Gravidarum, severe pregnancy sickness that can flatten every part of daily life. My extended 90-minute HG debrief gives you time to process the full weight of that experience.
I also support women through antenatal anxiety and depression, postnatal depression, birth trauma, bonding difficulties, and the enormous adjustment to motherhood. Struggling with any of it doesn't mean you're doing it wrong; it means you're human.

Online Sessions
For Camberley clients, and especially service families who move or face deployments, online counselling by secure video keeps our work steady wherever you are. The relationship holds just the same on screen, and there's no drive to fit around an already full week.
Everything begins with a free telephone consultation, a low-key chance to talk through what's happening and decide together whether counselling feels right. There's no obligation to carry on afterwards. Standard sessions are 50 minutes, HG debriefs are 90, and the tone throughout is warm and unhurried.

I believe therapy should be accessible. An initial free telephone consultation is offered so we can discuss your needs before committing.

Camberley
Camberley sits in Surrey Heath and grew up alongside the nearby Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, giving the town a strong connection to military families alongside its wider commuter community. It has a compact town centre and easy access to nearby heathland.
There's no particular type of person counselling is meant for, and no crisis you need to be in before it's worthwhile. People come with anxiety, low mood, stress, grief, relationship strain, or simply a sense that something isn't right.
There's no need to wait until things feel unmanageable before reaching out. Whether you'd like to work through something specific or simply have regular space to think, we can shape the sessions around what would help you most.
Camberley's nearby heathland offers open space for a walk and some quiet reflection after a session. Building time for yourself into your day -- even just 30 minutes -- is part of prioritising your wellbeing.
FAQ
Yes. Because I offer sessions online by secure video as well as face to face near Addlestone, our work can continue through a posting or a move. Consistency comes from the relationship rather than the postcode, so it need not restart every time life relocates.
Long separations, uncertainty and the constant readjustment when someone returns can be genuinely destabilising. Counselling gives you a steady place to process the worry, loneliness and role changes involved, and to build routines that help you and your family cope.
Yes. What we discuss is confidential. If you fund sessions through an Employee Assistance Programme the provider knows you're accessing counselling but not the content, and many people simply hold the time as a personal appointment.
Yes. Deciding whether to try again after Hyperemesis Gravidarum is rarely simple, often carrying grief and fear alongside any hope. We can work through the previous pregnancy and put a support plan in place if you decide to go ahead.
Often, yes. Teenagers tend to open up more easily to someone outside the family, with no history and nothing to prove. I offer a neutral, judgement-free space, keep their confidence, and encourage age-appropriate communication with you.
For most issues, yes. Research supports it, and the therapeutic relationship forms in the same way over video. All you really need is a private space where you won't be interrupted and a reliable connection.
The simplest way to begin is a free, no-obligation telephone consultation, which you can arrange by WhatsApp. It's a relaxed chance to talk through what's going on, ask anything you're unsure about, and get a feel for whether we're a good fit before you commit to anything.
Taking the first step can feel daunting, but it is often the most important one. I offer a free initial telephone consultation where we can have a chat about what you are looking for.
